The Witcher 3 Nilfgaardian Armor and Elite Crossbow Set: Locations, Specs and more!

This is CD Project Red's third week of free DLC for The Witcher 3, and it appears that they are the gift that just keeps on giving. This week's DLC includes the Nilfgaardian Armor set, which includes armor for Geralt as well as his trusty steed, Roach, plus three unique elite crossbows, each at different levels to satiate players at different stages and levels in the game.

First of all, the Nilfgaardian armor as well as the Nilfgaardian crossbow can be purchased from the Bloody Baron’s Quartermaster in No Man’s Land, with Crow’s Perch the closest fast travel point.

Here are the stats for this armor:

Nilfgaardian Armor (medium armor, level 10):

+25% resistance to piercing damage
+25% resistance to bludgeoning damage
+30% resistance to slashing damage

Nilfgaardian Boots (medium armor, level 10):

Nilfgaardian Trousers (medium armor, level 10):

+10% resistance to slashing damage

Nilfgaardian Gauntlets (medium armor, level 10):

Horse Blinders:

Cost: 206 gold

Saddle:
50 Stamina

Saddlebags:
70 maximum inventory weight
Cost: 288 gold

As you can see, the armor is mainly for aesthetic purposes, especially when you are at a higher level. This set will cost you a grand total of 1,886 gold, and so at a lower level you may need to scrimp and save to buy it outright.

Considering the crossbows, as mentioned above, the Nilfgaardian crossbow can be purchased from the Bloody Baron’s Quartermaster. This is a level 7 weapon, which does 5-7 damage, as well as +125% attack power. This can be bought for 306 gold.

The Skellige crossbow can be purchased from the Skellige Isles at the Kaer Trolde Keep – you buy this item from the blacksmith (see image below to get a better understanding). He is not there at all times, and I have found that the best time to talk to him is 1:00pm as you can buy, craft and play Gwent with him if you wish. This is a level 14 weapon, which does 6-8 damage, as well as +145% attack power. This can be bought for 420 gold.
NOTE: You can only get here after travelling to the Skellige Isles and making the main quest: “The King Is Dead – Long Live The King” active.

Finally, the Elven crossbow can be purchased from Novigrad, from the shopkeeper behind the northernmost Notice Board (see image below). This is a level 21 weapon, which does 7-9 damage, as well as +165% attack power. This can be bought for 450 gold.

I hope this has helped with your journeys throughout the world of The Witcher! Please leave feedback/comments below.
